Educational process in the Medical Institute is provided by the departments:

The medical field is a specific field of activity, the quality of which depends on the staff structure, their professional knowledge, skills and abilities. All this determined the need to train medical professionals. The significance of training highly qualified doctors is due to the reform of health care in Ukraine, which involves profound changes in the structure of medical education, timing and quality of training in accordance with current state and world standards, trends in European and world educational space and taking into account relevant practical needs of the health care system in high quality medical care.

Professional training for specialists in the educational and scientific medical institute in specialties “Medicine” and “Nursing” is focused on the implementation of educational activities on the basis ofprogression, systematic approach, complexity, student-centeredness taking into account current changes in the regulatory framework and trends in health care reform in Ukraine; reflection in the educational components of specialized tasks of providing medical services in accordance with the current needs of their recipients.

Scientific and research work

Scientific and research work at the faculty is a component of professional training of future specialists, aimed at the integration of educational activity and scientific research.

The integration of training and research during the implementation of the educational program covers three levels:

І level – organizational – вsolving simple cases by students, conducting group mini-projects within the research activities and organizing the work of circles in the specialty; presentations of scientific research in order to involve students in scientific work; approbation of the results of student research in the format of round-table conferences, student conferences (annual International scientific-practical conferences of applicants and young scientists (KyIU), All-Ukrainian scientific competitions and Olympiads; organization and holding of practice-oriented projects, round-table conferences, trainings, debates, etc.). Participation in the Student Research Society of students and young scientists contributes to self-improvement and self-realization of future specialists.

ІІ level – semantic-methodical – approval of the main directions of scientific activity in accordance with the theme of research work of the Educational-Scientific Medical Institute; conducting practice-oriented cross-sectional research related to the specialty throughout the training; application of research methods (individual and/or group research, experimental, independent work); introduction within the disciplines of innovative organization forms of research activities that form scientific and critical thinking. Academic staff who provide the educational process in the educational program “Medicine”, perform research within the research topic: “Synergy of the basic principles of a healthy lifestyle and optimization of health care as a predictor of improving the health of the population” (01.2021 – 12.2025 ) (approved by UkrISTEI, the State Registration Number – 0121U107445; the head: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Pavlovska M. O.). Applicants of the educational program “Medicine” are involved in the integration of education and research, performing research work within the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute.

ІІІ level – informative – conducting of methodological seminars for Academic staff, information classes in order to teach students how to work with scientometric databases; the development of methodical recommendations; usage of internal electronic information resources of the University by students during the writing of reports for participation in scientific activities; supplementing the student’s work portfolio with materials that reflect scientific achievements, etc.

Also the effective types of student research work are: participation in various levels of olympiads, fulfillment of research tasks during internships; regular meetings and round-table conferences with experienced health professionals: cardiologists, surgeons, therapists, etc., who have extensive practical experience and share it with students (
