The Department of Quality Standardization of Medicine in the KyIU was established in 2015.

The department’s activity is aimed at preparation of highly skilled experts which are competitive on a labour market, have a possibility to make good use knowledge and practical skills during granting the qualified, high-quality and duly pharmaceutical help to the population of Ukraine.


The department provides teaching of such professional and practical disciplines:

  • Quality systems in pharmacy;

  • State System of Medicines Administration;
  • Organization and regulation of activity of pharmaceutical companies;
  • Medicines Usage in Clinical Practice;
  • Methodology and Logics of Scientific Researches;
  • Patenting/Patent Science;
  • Social Economics in Pharmacy;
  • Toxicological Drug Safety;
  • Pharmacology;
  • Pharmaceutical law and legislation;
  • Medical and pharmaceutical commodity;
  • Aspects of Age-related Pharmacology;
  • Pharmaceutical management and marketing;
  • Pharmacology and medical formulation;
  • Clinical Pharmacology;
  • Quality control of medicines;
  • Clinical pharmacology with toxicology.

The department provides teaching of the following subjects:

  • toxicological chemistry;;
  • patent stadying;
  • standardization of medicines;
  • pharmaceutical law;
  • modern pharmaceutical technology;
  • clinical pharmacy;
  • pharmacognostic analysis of new medicinal raw materials.

The scientific work of the department focuses on the research themes:

  • scientific and theoretical aspects of safety pharmacology and preclinical studies for improvements in innovative medicines;
  • optimization of methodological approaches to quality management in pharmacy;
  • relevant aspects of standardization of medicines;
  • legislative regulation of pharmaceutical activities;;
  • improvement of pharmacy education in Ukraine: real state and international experience.

Students of the department have practical trainings on the basis of chemist's networks and drugstores with the right of manufacturing of medical products, the enterprises of Kiev pharmaceutical manufacture, treatment-and-prophylactic establishments.
