Department of Foreign Languages

Foreign Languages Department was established in 1998 and provides teaching of European and oriental languages for bachelors and masters in the institutes and faculties of KyIU.

Foreign languages are taught in accordance with the author's method of President of the University Professor Khachatur V. Khachaturian, based on authentic materials and modeling real situations, which facilitates the learning of foreign language vocabulary in typical communicative contexts.

Education is provided by the teachers, philologists and scholars of the highest qualification. Their scientific achievements are widely used in the educational process and is key to quality training of future specialists in international relations, organizational management, psychology, sociology, political and legal sciences.

The basis of scientific research work of the Department is the study of the vital problems of linguistics and methodology in foreign languages teaching. The teaching staff work at the scientific-research theme: Cognitive and discourse structures of the Germanic and Oriental languages in social and cultural space of communication. The teachers of the department take an active part in international, all-Ukrainian, regional conferences, meetings and seminars of language centres.

The teaching staff of Foreign Languages Department is actively involved with the training of students of KyIU for the double degree program with the High School of Business in Dabrowa Gornicza (WSB, Poland).

The Staff of the Department make extensive use of educational technical aids at each lesson (video and audio recordings, videotapes, films and educational films). The supply of audio and video materials of the Department is constantly updated.
