Within the framework of the partnership program with the Ukrainian-language international examination center Grade Education Center, the Kyiv International University trains students, postgraduates, and teachers for at Cambridge ESOL - English for Speakers of Other Languages English exams of different levels. Successful applicants receive Cambridge English certificates.
In connection with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Procedure for the Training of PhDs and Doctors of Science", we provide explanations on the main issues regarding the international examinations in English language level B1 (PET), B2 (FCE) mandatory for postgraduate students and teachers for successful defense of scientific dissertations:
B1 – is the average level of language proficiency sufficient for study, work, travel, and everyday life;
В2 – level language proficiency, which is defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment - European language education recommendations: study, teaching, assessment, approved by the Council of Europe (it is used by the majority of language professors due to comprehensiveness and versatility). Level B2 can be briefly described as follows: The test taker understands the overall content of complex texts on abstract and specific topics, including highly specialized ones. He\she speaks quickly and spontaneously, in order to constantly communicate with native speakers without any difficulty for any of the parties, is able to make clear, detailed reports or speeches on various topics and present their views on the main problem, to show the advantages and disadvantages of different opinions.
