Centre for International Academic Mobility (CIAM) Kyiv International University

The Center for International Academic Mobility of the Private Higher Education Institution (PHEI) “Kyiv International University” is a structural unit that ensures planning, organization and monitoring of directions and structure of international academic links between Kyiv International University and international higher education and research establishments, organizations, foundations, institutions, grant donors and business structures.

CIAM activities are implemented in accordance with the current legislation, in particular, the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", the Statute of "Kyiv International University", bilateral and multilateral agreements with partners, as well as other normative acts defining the legal, organizational and financial principles of the University functioning.

Development of international academic mobility of scientific and pedagogical staff, students and personnel for accelerating the internationalization of the University 's educational, scientific, creative and organizational - financial activities, and ensuring, on this basis, its high competitiveness in the global and European educational and scientific spheres.

Main objectives

  • Organization, evaluation, support and monitoring of international projects in the areas of the University functioning, outlined by its professional competence, scientific, educational, methodological, cultural, educational, sport and other interests, taking into account the respective rights of foreign partners.
  • Facilitating the formation of a global positive image of the University through its presence and showcase at international forums, conferences, exhibitions, contests, fairs, competitions, and seminars.
  • Promoting measures to increase the competitiveness of higher education institutions in international academic rankings, especially those aimed at assessing the professional level of economic, financial and business education and related training areas.
  • Enhancing cooperation with existing funds, projects, programs (Erasmus +, DAAD, Fulbright, Europe 2020, etc.), scientific, educational and business structures. Search for other funds, grants, programs, competitions for students, postgraduates and university staff to realize their right to academic mobility.
  • Selection of candidates for participation in academic mobility programs in accordance with the criteria of professional, age, organizational compliance, and funding terms. Regulation of the list of requirements and documents necessary for confirmation of participation in the programs of academic mobility, procedures and deadlines for their submission.
  • Determination of stages, financial conditions, types and forms of academic mobility, duration and curriculum of study and internships at higher education institutions (research establishments) - partners of the University.
  • Organization and implementation of joint educational programs with foreign higher education institutions.
  • Support of academic cooperation programs, exchange of specialists with foreign higher education establishments, institutions and business structures. Involvement of foreign teachers, specialists and students in participation in the educational and scientific processes of the University, as well as in its cultural and sports life.
  • Exchange of scientific and methodological information with foreign partners.
  • Provision of consulting and organizational support to research and teaching staff and students in planning and developing international cooperation.
  • Providing university subdivisions with information materials on conducting international forums, conferences, seminars, presentations, exhibitions, announced calls for grant proposals.
  • Organization of hosting official foreign delegations.

The main types of academic mobility identified by CIAM

The main types of academic mobility, defined by CIAM within its competence, are degree and credit mobility.

Degree mobility — studying in a higher education institution (HEI) other than a permanent place of study to obtain a corresponding degree of higher education, which is confirmed by a document (documents) on higher education or a higher education degree from two or more HEIs.

Credit mobility — studying at an institution other than the permanent place of study to obtain credits from the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System and / or relevant competencies, learning outcomes (without getting credits from the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) that will be recognized in the university of permanent place of studying of resident and international students. The overall training period for such participants in the programs of credit mobility does not change.

Forms of Academic Mobility identified by CIAM

The forms of academic mobility of the educational process participants who obtain educational degrees of the Junior Bachelor, Bachelor, Master and Doctor of Philosophy at the domestic higher educational institutions, are as follows: studying under the Programs of academic mobility; language training; scientific internship.

Forms of academic mobility for individuals obtaining the scientific degree of the Doctor of Sciences, scientific and pedagogical staff and other educational process participants are: participation in joint projects; teaching; scientific research; scientific internship; professional development.
